A literature search was conducted using the PubMed and Embase databases to collect placebo-controlled randomized clinical trials related to fluticasone furoate and fluticasone propionate treating adult and adolescents chronic asthma with a deadline of November 20, 2019. The search keywords included. chronic asthma, fluticasone furoate and fluticasone propionate. The endpoint for this study were the trough FEV1 or the change from baseline in trough FEV1.

A total of 14 studies with 58 treatment arms and 6640 subjects were included in the analysis. Among these studies, 9 reported fluticasone furoate-related results and 10 reported fluticasone propionate-related results.
